Application submitted - what happens next?
When you submit your accommodation application you will see see an acknowledgement page confirming that your application has been successfully received. You will also receive an email which you should keep for later reference. If you do not receive this email by the following day, please contact us on 028 9097 4403 or email@example.com.
Students from outside of Northern Ireland who make Queen’s their firm choice (UF and CF) by 25 July 2017 will be sent an offer of a room after this date.
All other students will be allocated accommodation when they have been accepted onto a course at Queen’s University Belfast, your status at the time of allocation must be unconditional firm (UF).
For Northern Ireland students, allocations will commence on Monday 21 August 2017 and rooms will be offered on the basis of distance, from your home postcode to Queen’s University BT7 1NN. The Accommodation team will not be allocating rooms to students from Northern Ireland prior to this date and do not worry if your friends find out where they have been allocated before you do. We have thousands of applications to deal with and have to send them out over a number of weeks. If, however, you have not heard from the Accommodation team by 8 September 2017 regarding your application please contact us on 028 9097 4403.
Accepting a contract...
Once we have allocated your accommodation, we will send you an offer email to the address you provided on your application. Sometimes, our emails will automatically go into your junk mail or spam mail folders so make sure that you check these regularly. The email will contain a link which will take you to your offer and the Conditions of Occupancy. You should read this carefully as when you accept the offer online, this creates a legally binding contract for the time period stated (usually for the whole academic year from September to June). You are also agreeing to live by the ethos of our accommodation and this is particularly important if you have been offered a room in a lifestyle block. In order to complete the contract you must pay a damage deposit of £300 within two days. If you have any extenuating circumstances which mean you cannot make the payment, please contact the Accommodation office on 028 9097 4403.
REMEMBER: PLEASE ACCEPT YOUR CONTRACT AS SOON AS YOU RECEIVE IT. IF YOU DO NOT ACCEPT THE OFFER WITHIN 2 DAYS, THE OFFER MAY BE WITHDRAWN.
